Just before 9pm, during our Haz Mat Ops refresher class at Station 71 (Chester Heights FD), The Township Box assignment was struck to Monticello Ave for the Building Fire. On the ticket were Companies 40, 55, 61, RIT 45(Parkside), and Medic 100C. The crew of 6 and 1 walking wounded boarded the engine and enjoyed a relaxing ride from station 71 to scene. Vehicle Fire with Propane Tank Exposure

Around 14:00 Hrs companies 55 and 61(Reliance) were dispatched to 329 Bethel Ave for the vehicle fire with a propane tank involved. Capt. 55 (Cooper) arrived first to report a pickup truck with a trailer carrying 4 propane tanks with all 4 tanks venting flames. For the 7th year in a row Engine 1 has brought home a 1st place trophy from the Hacks Point Fire Co. annual parade. Again, the Best Appearing 1250 gpm (gallons-per-minute) engine category was dominated by Engine 1. There was competition from five other engines in the category. The members of the company were able to take advantage of training in an acquired structure in Tinicum Twp. Deputy 55 (C. Nussbaumer) was able to arrange the use of the site with the Officers of Station 48 (Tinicum Twp. Fire Co.). Minutes after 8:00 pm Rescue Co. 40 and Medic 100-C were dispatched to the Conchester Hwy. area of the Wal-Mart for a motor vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer and a subject ejected from the vehicle.
